The 9mm chambering provides low recoil, affordable ammunition, and high magazine capacity, making this upper an outstanding choice for range training, home defense, and recreational shooting.

CMMG has built a strong reputation for producing high-quality, innovative AR platform components. The Banshee MK4 series is specifically engineered for short-barreled applications, and this Midnight Bronze unsuppressed model combines performance, reliability, and standout styling in one complete upper assembly.

Midnight Bronze Finish

This model features CMMG’s attractive Midnight Bronze finish on the handguard and select components. Midnight Bronze is a rich, dark bronze anodized color that offers a unique tactical appearance while maintaining excellent durability and corrosion resistance. This finish provides a distinctive look that differentiates it from standard black uppers and pairs well with a variety of rifle builds. The Midnight Bronze color adds a premium, custom look without sacrificing functionality, making this upper a popular choice for shooters who want their firearm to stand out while still maintaining a professional appearance.

Compact 6.5-Inch 9mm Barrel

This Banshee upper is equipped with a 6.5-inch barrel chambered in 9mm Luger. The short barrel length makes the upper highly maneuverable and ideal for compact builds. Despite its short length, the barrel is designed to deliver reliable function and good accuracy with common 9mm defensive and training ammunition. The 9mm cartridge performs very well in short barrels, maintaining excellent terminal ballistics while producing significantly less recoil than larger rifle calibers. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of 9mm bullet weights for consistent accuracy.

Banshee MK4 Platform Design

The Banshee MK4 upper is built on CMMG’s proven Banshee platform, which is specifically designed for short-barreled and compact rifle configurations. It features a lightweight forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver paired with a durable 6.5-inch barrel. The included CMMG RML7 M-LOK handguard in Midnight Bronze provides ample mounting space for lights, grips, optics, and other accessories while keeping overall weight low. This results in a compact, well-balanced upper that is easy to handle in close-quarters situations.

Direct Blowback 9mm System

This upper utilizes a direct blowback operating system, which is the standard and most reliable method for 9mm AR-style firearms. The system is specifically tuned for unsuppressed use, ensuring consistent and reliable cycling with a wide range of 9mm ammunition, including both standard velocity and +P loads. The direct blowback design simplifies the upper and reduces the number of parts that can fail, contributing to the overall reliability of the platform.
