Built on Colt’s robust large frame, the Grizzly is designed to handle full-power .357 Magnum loads with ease while offering the versatility to also fire .38 Special ammunition. The stainless steel construction provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the unfluted cylinder adds both strength and a bold, aggressive appearance. Whether you’re a handgun hunter pursuing large game or a precision shooter looking for a powerful yet controllable revolver, the Colt Grizzly 6-inch Shooters Model delivers exceptional performance and craftsmanship.

The Colt Grizzly represents a modern evolution of the classic large-frame revolver, combining traditional power with performance-enhancing features that serious shooters demand.

6-Inch Ported Barrel for Superior Performance

The 6-inch ported barrel is a key feature of this Grizzly model. The integral ports help redirect expanding gases upward, significantly reducing muzzle flip and felt recoil. This allows shooters to take full advantage of the .357 Magnum’s power without excessive discomfort. The longer 6-inch barrel also increases muzzle velocity compared to shorter-barreled models, resulting in better terminal performance and a flatter trajectory at longer distances. Additionally, the extended barrel provides a longer sight radius, which greatly improves accuracy for both hunting and target shooting. This makes the 6-inch Grizzly particularly well-suited for western big game hunting and long-range revolver work.

Unfluted Cylinder for Strength and Style

This Grizzly model is equipped with an unfluted cylinder, which provides greater structural strength compared to traditional fluted designs. The unfluted cylinder can better withstand the high pressures generated by .357 Magnum ammunition, making it ideal for shooters who frequently fire full-power loads. Beyond the performance benefits, the unfluted cylinder gives the revolver a bold, distinctive appearance that sets it apart from standard revolvers. This feature is highly valued by enthusiasts who appreciate both the functional and aesthetic advantages of an unfluted cylinder.

Stainless Steel Construction

The Colt Grizzly is built entirely from stainless steel, offering outstanding corrosion resistance and long-term durability. This makes the revolver well-suited for field use in varying weather conditions, as well as for everyday carry. The stainless steel finish provides a sleek, modern look while requiring minimal maintenance. The material choice also contributes to the revolver’s overall strength and ability to handle repeated heavy use without compromising accuracy or function.

Shooters Model Performance Enhancements

As a designated “Shooters Model,” this Grizzly includes several refinements aimed at improving accuracy, trigger feel, and overall shooting performance. These enhancements typically include a tuned action, improved sight options, and other details that make the revolver more effective for precision shooting and hunting. The Shooters Model designation signals that Colt has optimized this version for serious users who demand more from their firearms.

.357 Magnum Versatility

Chambered in .357 Magnum, the Grizzly offers excellent versatility. It can safely fire both powerful .357 Magnum loads and milder .38 Special ammunition. This allows shooters to practice with lower-recoil .38 Special rounds while retaining the ability to load .357 Magnum for maximum performance when needed. The 6-inch barrel maximizes the effectiveness of both cartridges, making this revolver suitable for a wide range of applications.
