The Colt Lightweight Commander Optics Ready .45 ACP 4.25" O4840XE-OR is a modern, high-performance 1911 Commander that combines the classic Colt Lightweight frame with contemporary optics-ready features. Chambered in .45 ACP with an 8+1 round capacity and a 4.25-inch barrel, this pistol offers an excellent balance of reduced weight, concealability, and stopping power. Finished with an anodized frame and blued slide, the Colt Lightweight Commander Optics Ready delivers both classic 1911 aesthetics and modern functionality for everyday carry and defensive use.
Why Choose the Colt Lightweight Commander Optics Ready?
The Colt Lightweight Commander has long been a favorite among shooters who want the power of .45 ACP in a more compact and easier-to-carry package than a full-size Government model. This Optics Ready version takes the classic design a step further by adding a factory-machined slide for direct mounting of micro red dot sights. The lightweight aluminum frame significantly reduces overall weight compared to all-steel Commanders, making it much more comfortable for all-day concealed carry. Combined with Colt’s legendary 1911 trigger, crisp sights, and reliable feeding, the O4840XE-OR offers the perfect blend of tradition and modern innovation. Whether used for concealed carry, home defense, or range training, this pistol provides the performance and quality that serious shooters expect from Colt.

Performance and Build Quality
The Colt Lightweight Commander Optics Ready is built with the same attention to detail and quality that has made Colt 1911 pistols trusted for generations. The lightweight aluminum frame dramatically reduces the pistol’s overall weight compared to traditional steel-frame Commanders, making it far more comfortable for daily concealed carry without sacrificing the strength needed for reliable .45 ACP performance. The optics-ready slide is precision-machined to accept a wide variety of popular red dot sights, allowing shooters to take advantage of faster target acquisition and improved accuracy in low-light conditions. The 4.25-inch barrel provides an ideal balance of velocity and compactness.
