Dan Wesson ECP 9mm 4" Bull Barrel Black Aluminum Grips Bobbed Hammer 9 Round 1911 Pistol 01884 (UPC 806703018843)

The Dan Wesson ECP 9mm 4" Bull Barrel Black Aluminum Grips Bobbed Hammer 9 Round 1911 Pistol 01884 (UPC 806703018843) is a premium, carry-focused 1911 that combines the legendary ergonomics of the 1911 platform with modern features optimized for concealed carry. Part of Dan Wesson’s Enhanced Carry Pistol (ECP) series, this model is chambered in 9mm and features a 4-inch bull barrel, a bobbed hammer, and lightweight black aluminum grips. Designed for shooters who want the smooth trigger and excellent handling of a 1911 in a more compact and concealable package, the ECP delivers outstanding accuracy, reliability, and shootability. The 9mm chambering provides lower recoil, higher magazine capacity, and more affordable ammunition compared to .45 ACP models, making this pistol an excellent choice for both new and experienced 1911 users who prioritize everyday carry performance.

Dan Wesson has built a strong reputation for producing some of the highest-quality 1911 pistols on the market. The ECP series was specifically developed to meet the needs of modern concealed carry users who want a smaller, lighter 1911 without sacrificing the precision and reliability the brand is known for.

4-Inch Bull Barrel for Superior Accuracy

The Dan Wesson ECP is equipped with a 4-inch bull barrel, which offers several performance advantages. The thicker bull barrel design increases rigidity and helps improve accuracy by reducing barrel whip. It also aids in heat dissipation during extended range sessions. This barrel length provides an excellent balance between the full-size 5-inch Government model and smaller Officer’s models, delivering good velocity from the 9mm cartridge while keeping the overall length of the pistol compact and easier to conceal.

Bobbed Hammer for Snag-Free Concealed Carry

A key feature of the Dan Wesson ECP is the bobbed hammer. The rounded, low-profile hammer significantly reduces the chance of snagging on clothing during the draw, making this pistol much more suitable for everyday concealed carry than traditional 1911s with spur hammers. This design choice reflects the ECP’s focus on real-world carry use while still maintaining the crisp, reliable single-action trigger that 1911 enthusiasts expect.

Lightweight Black Aluminum Grips

The ECP comes equipped with black aluminum grips that help reduce the overall weight of the pistol. These grips provide a secure, consistent texture for excellent control during rapid fire while keeping the frame slim enough for comfortable all-day concealed carry. The aluminum construction adds durability and gives the pistol a modern, tactical appearance that many shooters prefer over traditional wood grips.

Black Duty Finish

This model features a durable black finish that provides excellent corrosion resistance and a low-profile, tactical look. The black coating helps reduce glare and makes the pistol less reflective in various lighting conditions. The finish is designed to withstand the rigors of daily carry while maintaining its appearance over time.

9mm Chambering Advantages

Chambered in 9mm Luger, the Dan Wesson ECP offers several practical benefits over .45 ACP models. The 9mm cartridge provides lower recoil, which allows for faster follow-up shots and easier control during high-volume training. It also offers higher magazine capacity and more affordable ammunition, making this pistol an excellent choice for both concealed carry and extended range sessions. The 4-inch bull barrel helps maximize the performance of the 9mm cartridge while maintaining a compact overall size.
