Built by Dan Wesson under CZ USA, this model delivers exceptional accuracy, smooth operation, and the hard-hitting performance that has made the 10mm cartridge a favorite among hunters and serious defensive shooters. With its longer barrel, the Kodiak extracts superior velocity and energy from 10mm ammunition, making it an outstanding choice for big game hunting, backcountry carry, and competitive shooting.

Dan Wesson has long been recognized as one of the top manufacturers of high-quality 1911 pistols. The Kodiak model was developed to showcase the full potential of the 10mm cartridge in a refined, optic-ready platform that offers both exceptional performance and distinctive styling.

Optic Ready Slide for Modern Versatility

The Kodiak comes equipped with a factory optic-ready slide, allowing shooters to easily mount a wide variety of red dot sights. This modern feature provides faster target acquisition and improved accuracy, especially at longer ranges where the 10mm cartridge truly excels. Whether you prefer a micro red dot for quick defensive use or a larger optic for hunting applications, the optic-ready design gives you the flexibility to customize your setup without the need for custom machining.

6-Inch Barrel for Superior 10mm Performance

The 6-inch barrel is one of the defining features of the Kodiak. This longer barrel length allows the 10mm Auto cartridge to achieve higher velocities and greater energy compared to standard 5-inch 1911s. The increased velocity translates to a flatter trajectory, improved terminal performance, and better performance on medium to large game. Whether hunting deer, hogs, or black bear, the Kodiak delivers the power and accuracy needed for ethical harvests at extended ranges.

Striking Tri-Tone Finish

The Kodiak features a distinctive tri-tone finish that combines stainless steel, black, and contrasting accents for a bold, premium appearance. This multi-tone finish not only enhances the pistol’s visual appeal but also provides excellent corrosion resistance and durability. The unique aesthetic sets the Kodiak apart from standard 1911s and makes it a standout choice for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate refined detailing.

Premium 1911 Construction and Ergonomics

Built with Dan Wesson’s renowned attention to detail, the Kodiak offers tight tolerances, a crisp single-action trigger, and exceptional fit and finish. The 1911 platform’s low bore axis and excellent ergonomics contribute to outstanding shootability, even with the powerful 10mm cartridge. The pistol is designed for both performance and longevity, making it a reliable choice for serious shooters who demand the best.
