Manufactured by Damascus, a trusted name in protective gear, this heavyweight Nomex hood delivers superior thermal protection compared to standard lightweight hoods. The NH100H-B model features a durable, heavyweight Nomex construction that provides enhanced insulation and durability while maintaining breathability and comfort during extended wear.

Whether you’re battling structure fires, conducting tactical operations in hazardous conditions, or working in environments where flash fire exposure is a risk, the Damascus Nomex Heavyweight Hood offers reliable protection for your head, neck, and face. Its robust construction makes it an essential piece of personal protective equipment (PPE) for professionals who demand more than basic flame resistance.

Heavyweight Nomex Construction for Superior Protection

The Damascus NH100H-B is made from heavyweight Nomex fabric, a high-performance aramid fiber known for its exceptional flame resistance and thermal protection. Unlike lighter Nomex hoods, this heavyweight version provides increased insulation against extreme heat and radiant energy. The thicker material helps reduce the risk of burns during prolonged exposure to high temperatures while still allowing for adequate breathability.

Nomex is inherently flame resistant, meaning its protective properties will not wash out or diminish over time. This makes the Damascus Heavyweight Hood a dependable choice for repeated use in demanding conditions. The hood is designed to fit comfortably under helmets and respirators, providing full coverage of the head and neck without restricting movement or vision.

Comfort and Functionality in Demanding Environments

Despite its heavyweight construction, the Damascus Nomex Hood is designed with user comfort in mind. The fabric is soft against the skin and allows for a full range of head movement. The hood is cut to sit comfortably under helmets and SCBA masks, making it ideal for structural firefighters and tactical teams who wear full protective ensembles. The long neck design provides extended coverage beneath turnout gear or tactical vests, helping to eliminate gaps in protection.

The NH100H-B model is built to withstand the rigors of professional use. Its reinforced stitching and durable Nomex material help ensure the hood maintains its shape and protective qualities even after repeated exposure to heat and regular washing. This combination of protection, comfort, and durability makes it a preferred choice among firefighters and tactical professionals.
