Dead Down Wind Defend Permethrin Clothing Spray: Long-Lasting Insect Protection
The Dead Down Wind Defend Permethrin Clothing Spray 24 oz (70009) is a premium insect-repellent treatment specifically formulated for hunting and outdoor clothing. Manufactured by Dead Down Wind, a trusted name in the hunting industry, this permethrin-based spray bonds to fabric fibers to create a protective barrier that kills ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, and other biting insects on contact. Unlike topical repellents that wear off quickly, permethrin-treated clothing provides long-lasting protection that remains effective even after multiple washings.
For hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, protection against ticks is critical due to the risk of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. The 24 oz size offers excellent value and is large enough to treat multiple sets of hunting clothing, including jackets, pants, base layers, and hats. This product allows you to stay in the field longer with greater confidence and fewer distractions from biting insects.

Why Choose Dead Down Wind Defend Permethrin Clothing Spray
The Dead Down Wind Defend Permethrin Clothing Spray 24 oz (70009) is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself from ticks and mosquitoes while hunting. Traditional topical repellents can wear off quickly, require frequent reapplication, and may interfere with scent control efforts. Permethrin-treated clothing works differently by killing insects that land on your gear, providing a more reliable layer of protection that lasts for weeks.
Dead Down Wind has built a strong reputation among hunters for developing products that enhance safety and performance in the field. This permethrin spray is specifically designed to bond tightly to synthetic and natural fabrics commonly used in hunting apparel. Once applied and allowed to dry, it creates a protective zone around the wearer that remains effective even after several wash cycles. The 24 oz size is ideal for hunters who want to treat an entire season’s worth of clothing in one application.
Additional benefits include:
- Kills ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, and other biting insects on contact
- Long-lasting protection that survives multiple washings

Ideal Applications for Dead Down Wind Defend Permethrin Clothing Spray
The Dead Down Wind Defend Permethrin Clothing Spray is an essential product for hunters who spend extended time in the woods, especially during peak tick season in spring and fall. Ticks pose a serious health risk, and treating your hunting clothing with permethrin is one of the most effective ways to reduce exposure. This spray is also highly beneficial for turkey hunters, early-season bowhunters, and anyone who hunts in areas with high mosquito populations.
Many serious hunters treat their base layers, pants, jackets, and even hats with permethrin before the season begins. Because the treatment lasts through multiple washings, a single application can provide protection for an entire hunting season. The 24 oz bottle is large enough to treat several complete outfits, making it a cost-effective solution for individuals and hunting families. This product is also popular among hikers, campers, and outdoor workers who need reliable insect protection while in the field.
This product is especially popular among whitetail hunters, turkey hunters, big game hunters, and anyone looking for long-lasting tick and mosquito protection for their hunting clothing.
