The Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition 12ga 3" 2oz #9 (PTSSX198FRR9) represents the pinnacle of modern turkey hunting ammunition. This limited collaboration between Federal Premium and renowned custom gunsmith Rob Roberts delivers an ultra-high-performance 12 gauge shotshell loaded with 2 ounces of #9 Tungsten Super Shot (TSS). Designed specifically for serious turkey hunters, this load offers unmatched pellet density, superior downrange energy, and devastating terminal performance on tough gobblers at extended ranges.
Why Choose Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition?
Rob Roberts Custom Guns is widely respected in the turkey hunting community for building some of the most accurate and effective turkey shotguns on the market. Federal partnered with Rob Roberts to create this special edition load, optimizing it for maximum performance in both factory and custom turkey guns. The combination of 2 ounces of #9 TSS shot at 1100 fps creates an incredibly dense shot pattern with exceptional pellet count and energy retention. Tungsten Super Shot is significantly denser than lead or even other tungsten blends, allowing smaller pellets to carry more energy farther downrange while maintaining tight patterns. This makes the Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition one of the most effective turkey loads available for hunters who demand the absolute best performance from their 12 gauge shotgun.

Performance and Build Quality
The Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition 12ga 3" 2oz #9 is engineered for maximum effectiveness on wild turkeys. The #9 TSS pellets offer an incredible pellet count while still delivering the penetration needed to reach the vital areas of a turkey. Because TSS is nearly twice as dense as lead, these smaller pellets retain energy much farther downrange than traditional lead loads. The FliteControl Flex wad system helps produce exceptionally tight patterns, even when used with standard choke tubes, giving hunters confidence in their shot placement at longer distances. The 1100 fps velocity strikes an excellent balance between pattern quality and manageable recoil, allowing for accurate follow-up shots when needed. This load is particularly effective for hunters using both factory turkey guns and high-end custom builds from Rob Roberts. Whether you’re hunting in thick timber or open fields, the Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition provides the pattern density and terminal performance serious turkey hunters demand.
