The Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition 20 Gauge Shotshell represents the pinnacle of turkey hunting ammunition. Developed in collaboration with renowned custom turkey gun builder Rob Roberts, this exclusive 20 gauge load combines Federal’s industry-leading Heavyweight TSS tungsten technology with specialized patterning optimized for Rob Roberts’ custom turkey chokes. Delivering devastating performance at extended ranges, the PTSSX295FRR 9 is engineered for serious turkey hunters who demand maximum pellet count, superior downrange energy, and exceptionally tight patterns.
Why Choose Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition?
Federal’s Heavyweight TSS (Tungsten Super Shot) is significantly denser than lead, allowing smaller shot sizes to carry more energy and penetrate deeper. The Rob Roberts Special Edition takes this proven formula even further by fine-tuning the load specifically for Rob Roberts’ custom choke tubes. The result is a 20 gauge 3-inch shotshell that produces incredibly consistent, dense patterns out to 60+ yards while maintaining the manageable recoil that makes 20 gauge turkey guns so popular.

Superior Performance for Turkey Hunting
The Federal Heavyweight TSS Rob Roberts Special Edition is purpose-built for modern turkey hunting. The ultra-dense #9 TSS pellets deliver more than double the downrange energy of lead #5 shot, allowing hunters to ethically harvest turkeys at ranges previously considered too far for 20 gauge loads. When paired with a Rob Roberts custom choke, this ammunition produces some of the tightest and most consistent patterns available in the 20 gauge platform.
Hunters appreciate the reduced recoil of the 20 gauge compared to 12 gauge while still enjoying the terminal performance of Heavyweight TSS. The PTSSX295FRR 9 is an excellent choice for both public land hunters and those who prefer the lighter weight and lower recoil of a 20 gauge turkey gun without sacrificing pattern quality or lethality.
