Why Choose the Maxim Defense MD9 CQB SBR 8.5" Arid?
The Maxim Defense MD9 CQB SBR with an 8.5-inch barrel offers the perfect balance between compactness and ballistic performance. The longer barrel provides increased muzzle velocity and improved terminal ballistics compared to shorter 5.5-inch models, while still maintaining excellent maneuverability. The Arid Cerakote finish gives this SBR a modern, tactical appearance that excels in desert and arid environments while providing superior corrosion resistance. Unlike pistol versions, this model comes equipped with the MD-CQB stock, making it a true registered short-barreled rifle with enhanced shouldering stability and control. Factory-equipped with the premium ALG trigger and RDB CQB buffer system, the MXM-48170 delivers out-of-the-box performance that rivals many custom builds.

Performance and Build Quality
The MAXIM DEFENSE MD9 CQB SBR 9MM 8.5" ARID is engineered for professional-grade performance in a compact package. The 8.5-inch barrel delivers noticeably better muzzle velocity and energy retention than shorter barrels, resulting in improved terminal ballistics with defensive 9mm ammunition. The ALG trigger provides a smooth, predictable break that enhances shot placement during both slow-fire and rapid engagements. The RDB CQB buffer system is specifically designed to reduce recoil impulse, allowing shooters to maintain better sight picture and achieve faster, more accurate follow-up shots. The Arid Cerakote finish not only provides a distinctive tactical look but also offers outstanding protection against harsh environmental conditions. This SBR is particularly well-suited for home defense, vehicle operations, and close-quarters tactical use where a balance of compactness, accuracy, and controllability is required.
