Key Features of the Okuma Celilo Crappie CE-S-661LB

Why Choose the Okuma Celilo Crappie 6'6" Light Spinning Rod?

The Okuma Celilo Crappie series was developed specifically for crappie anglers who want a rod that excels at finesse presentations. The CE-S-661LB’s 6'6" length provides excellent casting distance and leverage when fighting fish, while the light power rating allows anglers to use light line and small jigs effectively. The one-piece construction enhances sensitivity, allowing anglers to feel even the lightest bites that are common when crappie are feeding.

Okuma designed the Celilo Crappie rods with a responsive tip that loads easily for accurate casts with small lures, while still offering enough backbone in the lower section to control fish near cover. This makes the CE-S-661LB an outstanding choice for fishing brush piles, docks, standing timber, and open water where crappie often suspend. The rod’s lightweight design also reduces fatigue during long days on the water.

Performance and Design Advantages

The Okuma Celilo Crappie CE-S-661LB offers several performance advantages over general-purpose spinning rods. The one-piece graphite blank provides superior sensitivity and strength compared to multi-piece rods. The light power rating is perfectly matched for 4–8 lb test line and small jigs in the 1/32 oz to 1/8 oz range. The rod’s moderate-fast action allows the tip to load easily for accurate casts while still providing a solid backbone for fighting fish. Stainless steel guides reduce weight and improve casting performance, while the comfortable handle design ensures all-day fishing comfort. This rod is specifically tuned for the light line and small lure presentations that are most effective for crappie.
