ProTech Runt 5 R-Tanto Black/Stonewash OTF Automatic Knife R5201

The ProTech Runt 5 R-Tanto Black/Stonewash OTF Automatic Knife R5201 is a compact, high-performance out-the-front automatic knife designed for those who want the speed and convenience of an OTF in a smaller, more discreet package. As part of ProTech’s popular Runt series, the Runt 5 offers a perfect balance between portability and functionality. Featuring a reverse tanto blade with a black and stonewash finish, this model delivers a tactical yet refined appearance while maintaining the lightning-fast deployment that ProTech automatics are known for. Whether you’re looking for a deep-concealment everyday carry knife, a reliable backup automatic, or a high-quality addition to your collection, the ProTech Runt 5 R-Tanto provides exceptional performance in a compact and lightweight design.

ProTech has built a strong reputation for producing some of the finest American-made automatic knives, and the Runt 5 continues that tradition by offering a smaller alternative to their full-size Godfather and Godson models without sacrificing quality or reliability.

Compact Size for Everyday Carry

The Runt 5 is specifically designed to be more compact than ProTech’s larger OTF models, making it significantly easier to carry on a daily basis. Its reduced overall length and slim profile allow it to disappear in a pocket or small pouch while still providing a usable blade length. This makes the Runt 5 an excellent choice for users who want the advantages of an automatic knife without the bulk of a full-sized model. The compact design does not compromise the knife’s strength or deployment speed, delivering the same smooth, reliable action found in larger ProTech automatics.

Reverse Tanto Blade Design

The Runt 5 features a reverse tanto blade, which combines the strength of a tanto point with a more versatile cutting edge. This blade shape offers excellent piercing capability while maintaining good slicing performance. The reverse tanto design is particularly popular for its durability at the tip and its ability to handle a wide range of cutting tasks. The black and stonewash finish on the blade provides a tactical appearance while helping to reduce glare and hide minor wear from regular use.

Black and Stonewash Finish

The combination of black and stonewash finishes gives the ProTech Runt 5 a modern, tactical look. The stonewash treatment on portions of the blade helps conceal scratches and wear, while the black coating adds contrast and reduces reflectivity. This finish combination not only enhances the knife’s aesthetics but also improves its practicality for everyday carry and field use.

Fast and Reliable OTF Action

Like all ProTech automatic knives, the Runt 5 delivers a fast and consistent out-the-front deployment. With the push of a button, the blade extends smoothly and locks securely into place. The action is crisp and reliable, making the knife quick to deploy when needed. ProTech’s precision engineering ensures that the Runt 5 maintains its smooth operation over time, even with frequent use.
