The RETAY USA ACE Walnut 28 Gauge (Model C-ACEWAL-28, UPC 193212035745) is a premium inertia-driven semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 28 gauge featuring a 28-inch barrel and a 3-inch chamber. Equipped with a beautiful Turkish walnut stock and forearm, this model combines the lightweight handling and soft recoil of the 28 gauge with the refined aesthetics and smooth performance of RETAY’s proven inertia operating system. The longer 28-inch barrel provides enhanced velocity and a longer sight plane, making this version especially well-suited for upland bird hunters who want a bit more reach while maintaining the fast-handling characteristics of a 28 gauge shotgun.

Why the RETAY ACE Walnut 28 Gauge 28" Stands Out

The RETAY ACE Walnut 28 Gauge 28" offers the perfect blend of traditional styling and modern performance. While most 28 gauge semi-automatic shotguns are offered with synthetic stocks, this model features a premium Turkish walnut stock that gives it a classic, elegant appearance. The inertia-driven action delivers fast, clean cycling with minimal maintenance and noticeably softer recoil than gas-operated systems. The 28-inch barrel provides slightly higher muzzle velocity and a longer sight radius compared to shorter barrels, improving pattern performance at moderate distances without sacrificing too much maneuverability. This makes the ACE Walnut 28" an excellent choice for pheasant, quail, grouse, and dove hunting where a balance of reach and handling is desired.

Ideal for Upland Bird Hunting and Light Field Use

The RETAY USA ACE Walnut 28 Gauge 28" is an outstanding choice for upland bird hunters who want the advantages of a 28 gauge combined with the performance of a longer barrel. The 28-inch barrel provides a slight edge in velocity and pattern density compared to 26-inch models, making it particularly effective for pheasants, doves, and other game birds at moderate to longer ranges. At the same time, the 28 gauge platform keeps recoil very manageable, allowing hunters to stay comfortable during long days of walking and multiple shots. The walnut stock adds traditional elegance while the inertia system ensures reliable function even in dusty or wet field conditions.

This shotgun is also well-suited for smaller-framed shooters, youth hunters, or anyone who prefers a lighter-recoiling 28 gauge with classic styling. The longer barrel helps with swing and follow-through on crossing shots, making it a versatile option for both hunting and informal clay target shooting.
