Retay Ace-R 28 Gauge 28" Gamekeeper Semi-Automatic Shotgun C-RACEGMKPR-28 (UPC 193212037091)

The Retay Ace-R 28 Gauge 28" Gamekeeper Semi-Automatic Shotgun C-RACEGMKPR-28 (UPC 193212037091) is a premium inertia-driven shotgun engineered for upland bird hunters who demand a perfect balance of performance, handling, and reliability. Featuring a full 28-inch barrel, this model offers excellent muzzle velocity and pattern performance while maintaining the fast-swinging characteristics that make the Ace-R series so popular. The Gamekeeper camouflage finish provides practical concealment in the field, making this 28-gauge semi-automatic an outstanding choice for hunters pursuing pheasant, quail, dove, grouse, and other upland game.

Retay’s Ace-R platform utilizes a proven inertia operating system that delivers smooth, reliable cycling with minimal maintenance. The 28-gauge configuration provides noticeably less recoil than a 20-gauge or 12-gauge, allowing shooters to stay comfortable during high-volume shooting. With its 28-inch barrel, the Ace-R Gamekeeper excels at delivering tight, consistent patterns at longer ranges while still offering the maneuverability needed for fast-flushing birds in open fields and light cover.

Advanced Inertia-Driven Action

The Retay Ace-R is powered by a clean and efficient inertia-driven system. This design uses the rearward force of the fired shell to cycle the action, resulting in fewer parts to clean and greater long-term reliability compared to gas-operated shotguns. The inertia system cycles smoothly with a wide variety of 28-gauge ammunition, from light target loads to heavier field loads, giving hunters true versatility throughout the season.

Because the action does not rely on gas ports in the barrel, the Retay Ace-R stays significantly cleaner during extended hunts. This translates to more consistent performance and less downtime for cleaning in the field. The reduced recoil impulse of the inertia system also helps shooters maintain better control and sight picture for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.

28-Inch Barrel for Superior Velocity and Patterns

The 28-inch barrel on the Retay Ace-R Gamekeeper provides an excellent combination of muzzle velocity and pattern performance. The longer barrel helps generate higher pellet speeds, resulting in tighter patterns at extended ranges — a major advantage when hunting late-season pheasants or doves at longer distances. At the same time, the barrel length remains manageable enough for quick swings on flushing birds.

The shotgun is equipped with a ventilated rib and comes with a set of interchangeable choke tubes. This allows hunters to fine-tune their pattern for different hunting situations, whether they need an open choke for close-range flushes or a tighter constriction for longer shots across fields. The 28-inch barrel also contributes to a smooth, natural swing that many upland hunters prefer.

Gamekeeper Camouflage and Ergonomic Design

The Gamekeeper model features a durable synthetic stock and forend finished in a practical camouflage pattern that helps the shotgun blend into natural hunting environments. The stock is designed with a comfortable pistol grip and proper length of pull that promotes quick shouldering and consistent cheek weld. The overall lightweight nature of the 28-gauge platform makes the Ace-R Gamekeeper easy to carry throughout long days of walking fields and cover.

Retay has focused on real-world ergonomics with the Ace-R series. The controls are intuitive and easy to operate, even when wearing gloves. The slim profile and balanced design allow the shotgun to point naturally, helping hunters acquire targets quickly in dynamic upland hunting situations.
