Inertia-Driven Operating System

The Retay ACE MAX-7 utilizes a reliable inertia-driven action that is known for its simplicity, speed, and resistance to fouling. Unlike gas-operated systems, the inertia system requires less maintenance and continues to function reliably even in dirty or extreme conditions. This operating system provides fast, consistent cycling with a wide range of 28-gauge loads, from light target shells to heavier 3-inch hunting ammunition. The clean operation also means less carbon buildup, resulting in smoother performance over long shooting sessions.

28-Inch Barrel Performance

The 28-inch barrel on the ACE MAX-7 provides an excellent balance between swing speed and pattern performance. This length is ideal for upland hunting, where quick target acquisition is essential, while still delivering tight, consistent patterns at typical hunting distances. The barrel is designed to handle both 2¾" and 3" shells, giving hunters the flexibility to choose the right load for the situation. Many upland hunters prefer the 28-gauge platform for its lighter weight and reduced recoil, and the ACE MAX-7 maximizes these advantages with its efficient inertia system.

Lightweight and Well-Balanced Design

One of the standout advantages of the 28-gauge ACE MAX-7 is its lightweight construction. The reduced weight makes it comfortable to carry throughout long days of walking fields and cover, while the balanced design allows for smooth shouldering and fast target acquisition. The inertia system helps keep the overall weight down compared to many gas-operated shotguns, resulting in a firearm that feels lively and responsive in the hands. This makes the ACE MAX-7 particularly well-suited for hunters who cover a lot of ground during the season.
