Ruger American Rimfire Rifle .17 HMR 16.1" Threaded Barrel Black Synthetic Stock | Model 8393 | 9-Round Magazine
The Ruger American Rimfire Rifle .17 HMR (Model 8393) is a high-performance bolt-action rifle chambered in the fast and accurate .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (.17 HMR) cartridge. Featuring a 16.1-inch threaded barrel, a 9-round detachable magazine, and a rugged black synthetic stock, this rifle delivers exceptional accuracy, flat-shooting performance, and outstanding value. The .17 HMR is one of the most popular rimfire cartridges for varmint hunting and long-range target shooting due to its high velocity and impressive accuracy. The Ruger American Rimfire 8393 takes full advantage of this cartridge with a suppressor-ready threaded barrel and a durable synthetic stock that performs reliably in any weather condition.
Suppressor-Ready 16.1-Inch Threaded Barrel
The 16.1-inch threaded barrel on the Ruger American Rimfire .17 HMR is one of its standout features. The 1/2"-28 threading allows for easy installation of a suppressor, muzzle brake, or other muzzle devices. This makes the rifle significantly quieter and more enjoyable to shoot, especially during extended varmint hunting sessions or when shooting in noise-sensitive areas. The barrel length provides an excellent balance between velocity and maneuverability, delivering the high speeds that make the .17 HMR so effective while keeping the rifle compact and easy to handle in the field.
Durable Black Synthetic Stock
The black synthetic stock on the Model 8393 is built to withstand the demands of real-world use. Unlike wood stocks, the synthetic material is highly resistant to moisture, temperature changes, and rough handling. This makes the rifle an excellent choice for hunters and shooters who frequently operate in wet or harsh conditions. The stock features a comfortable ergonomic design with a textured grip area that provides a secure hold, even in wet or cold weather. The lightweight construction also helps keep the overall weight of the rifle down, improving handling and reducing fatigue during long days at the range or in the field.
High-Velocity .17 HMR Performance
The .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (.17 HMR) is renowned for its exceptional velocity and flat trajectory. With muzzle velocities often exceeding 2,500 feet per second, the .17 HMR offers significantly more range and accuracy than standard .22 LR or even .22 WMR. This makes the Ruger American Rimfire 8393 an outstanding choice for varmint hunting, predator control, and long-range rimfire target shooting. The 9-round magazine capacity provides ample firepower for extended shooting sessions without frequent reloading.
