The Tisas 1911 Duty 9 DS Comp 9mm Luger 5" QPQ Finish 12500023 (UPC 711500175227) is a high-performance, full-size double-stack 1911 pistol that combines classic 1911 ergonomics with modern features and serious firepower. This compensated model features a 5-inch barrel, an integrated compensator, and a durable QPQ finish. Chambered in 9mm Luger and supplied with two 17-round magazines, the Duty 9 DS Comp delivers exceptional shooting speed, reduced recoil, and high capacity in a full-size platform.

Manufactured by Tisas, the Duty 9 DS Comp represents the pinnacle of their double-stack 1911 lineup. By adding a compensator to the already high-capacity double-stack design, Tisas has created a pistol that excels in competitive shooting while remaining a capable defensive firearm. The 5-inch bull barrel and full-size frame provide a stable shooting platform, while the compensator helps keep the muzzle flat during rapid fire. Whether you’re a USPSA or IDPA competitor, a serious defensive shooter, or an enthusiast looking for a high-capacity 9mm 1911, the Tisas 1911 Duty 9 DS Comp offers outstanding performance and value.

Integrated Compensator for Faster Follow-Up Shots

The standout feature of the Tisas 1911 Duty 9 DS Comp is its integrated compensator. This muzzle device vents propellant gases upward, dramatically reducing muzzle rise and felt recoil. The result is a much flatter-shooting pistol that allows shooters to maintain better sight alignment between shots. In competition or defensive situations where speed matters, the compensator provides a significant advantage by enabling faster and more accurate follow-up fire.

Paired with the 5-inch barrel, the compensator maximizes the performance of the 9mm cartridge while keeping the overall length manageable. The heavy bull barrel design further enhances recoil control by adding weight at the muzzle. Together, these features create a very soft-shooting, high-capacity 1911 that is comfortable to shoot even during extended range sessions or high-round-count competitions.

High-Capacity Double-Stack Magazine System

The Tisas 1911 Duty 9 DS Comp utilizes a double-stack magazine design that holds 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition. This significantly increases capacity compared to traditional single-stack 1911 pistols while maintaining the ergonomic advantages of the 1911 grip angle and controls. The pistol comes with two 17-round magazines, giving shooters 34 rounds of total capacity right out of the box.

The 9mm Luger chambering paired with these high-capacity magazines makes the Duty 9 DS Comp an excellent choice for competitive shooting disciplines where speed and round count are critical. The lower recoil of the 9mm cartridge, combined with the compensator and heavy bull barrel, results in a very controllable and flat-shooting pistol that allows competitors to engage targets quickly and accurately.

Durable QPQ Finish

The Tisas 1911 Duty 9 DS Comp features a premium QPQ (Quench Polish Quench) finish. This nitrocarburizing treatment creates a hard, smooth, matte black surface that offers superior resistance to wear, corrosion, and environmental damage. QPQ finishing is significantly more durable than traditional bluing and provides excellent protection for a pistol that will see regular use in competition or defensive roles.

In addition to its protective qualities, the QPQ finish offers a professional, low-glare appearance and improved lubricity that can contribute to smoother cycling and long-term reliability. This makes the Duty 9 DS Comp well-suited for shooters who demand both performance and durability from their firearms.

Full-Size 5-Inch Bull Barrel Configuration

The Duty 9 DS Comp is built with a full-size 5-inch bull barrel. The heavier bull barrel design increases rigidity and reduces barrel movement during the firing cycle, resulting in improved accuracy and consistency. The added weight at the muzzle works in conjunction with the compensator to further reduce felt recoil and muzzle flip.

This full-size configuration provides a stable shooting platform and excellent sight radius, making the pistol highly accurate for both competition and defensive use. The combination of the 5-inch bull barrel, compensator, and double-stack capacity creates a 1911 that offers the best of both traditional design and modern performance.
