Winchester AA Super Spreader Shotshells 12 Gauge 2-3/4" 1oz #8 Shot 1250 fps | Model AASL128
The Winchester AA Super Spreader Shotshells (Model AASL128) are specially designed 12 gauge spreader loads engineered to deliver wide, consistent shot patterns at close to moderate ranges. Loaded with 1 ounce of #8 shot and propelled at 1250 feet per second, these shells are an excellent choice for skeet shooters, sporting clays competitors, and hunters who need a wider pattern for fast-moving targets or small game. The Super Spreader wad system opens the pattern quickly after leaving the muzzle, providing excellent coverage without sacrificing the quality and reliability Winchester AA shells are known for. Whether you’re competing in skeet or looking for an effective close-range hunting load, the Winchester AA Super Spreader offers dependable performance in a premium shotshell.
Advanced Spreader Wad Technology
Unlike standard shotshells that maintain a tight pattern, the Winchester AA Super Spreader features a specialized wad designed to open the shot column rapidly after it exits the barrel. This results in a significantly wider pattern at typical skeet and close-range sporting clays distances. The spreader wad helps distribute the shot more evenly across a larger area, increasing the likelihood of breaking fast-crossing targets or hitting quick-flushing game birds. This technology makes the AASL128 particularly effective for shooters who struggle with tight patterns on close targets.
Consistent Velocity and Reliable Performance
These shells are loaded to a velocity of 1250 feet per second, providing excellent pattern performance while maintaining manageable recoil. The consistent velocity helps deliver predictable patterns shot after shot, which is critical for competitive clay target shooting. Winchester’s premium AA hulls, high-quality primers, and clean-burning powder ensure reliable ignition and consistent performance across a wide range of temperatures and conditions. Each shell is manufactured to strict tolerances, giving shooters the confidence that every round will perform as expected.
Ideal for Close-Range Clay Target Shooting
The Winchester AA Super Spreader is especially popular among skeet shooters and those who shoot sporting clays stations with close, fast targets. The wider pattern helps compensate for slight aiming errors and provides more forgiveness on crossing targets at short distances. Many competitive shooters use Super Spreader loads on stations where targets are presented inside 20–25 yards, where a tight pattern can actually work against the shooter. The 1-ounce payload of #8 shot provides an excellent balance of pattern density and pellet count for breaking clay targets cleanly.
