Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke Houdini: Swimming Soft Plastic Fluke
The Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke 5BG Houdini (116-297) is a specialized version of the popular Super Fluke series, engineered with a built-in swimming action. This 5-inch soft plastic lure is designed to produce a realistic side-to-side swimming motion when retrieved at a steady pace, making it an excellent choice for anglers looking to cover water efficiently. The Houdini color features a dark, mysterious blend of black, purple, and blue with iridescent flake that creates a unique, high-contrast profile in the water.
Zoom Bait Company has long been a leader in soft plastic innovation, and the Swimmin' Super Fluke combines the proven profile of the original Super Fluke with enhanced swimming action. The Houdini color is particularly effective in stained or murky water and during low-light periods when bass rely more on silhouette and flash than natural color. Its dark base with flashy flake helps the lure stand out while still maintaining a realistic swimming presentation that triggers strikes from aggressive bass.

Why Choose the Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke Houdini
The Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke 5BG Houdini (116-297) stands out as an excellent choice for anglers fishing in stained water or during low-light conditions. Unlike traditional flukes that require a specific retrieve to create action, the Swimmin' Super Fluke produces a natural swimming motion with a simple steady retrieve. This makes it highly effective for covering water quickly and efficiently, especially when visibility is limited.
The Houdini color is one of the most effective colors for stained or murky water. Its dark base combined with flashy iridescent flake creates a strong silhouette and visual attraction that helps bass locate the lure when water clarity is poor. Zoom’s durable soft plastic formula ensures the lure maintains its shape and action even after multiple strikes. The 5-inch size is large enough to attract quality bass while remaining easy to fish with a variety of rigging methods.

Ideal Applications for the Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke Houdini
The Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke Houdini is highly effective in stained or murky water conditions. It performs exceptionally well when fished on a Texas rig around grass lines, laydowns, and brush piles where visibility is reduced. The built-in swimming action allows anglers to cover water efficiently while the dark, flashy Houdini color helps bass locate the lure.
Many anglers also use the Swimmin' Super Fluke on Carolina rigs when fishing deeper structure and points in stained water. It can also be used as a trailer on a jig or spinnerbait to add extra swimming action and flash. The Houdini color is particularly effective during early morning, late evening, and on overcast days when light levels are low. Its realistic swimming motion combined with high-contrast coloration makes it an excellent choice when bass are feeding in low-visibility environments.
This lure is especially popular among tournament bass anglers, swimbait fishermen, and those who frequently fish stained water or low-light conditions.
